A Level 3 inspection involves a thorough examination of the concealed sections of the chimney structure and flue, potentially necessitating the removal or destruction of permanently attached components of the chimney or building structure. A Level 2 inspection includes all aspects of a Level 1 inspection and additionally covers the accessible parts of the chimney’s exterior and interior, including spaces like attics, crawl spaces, and basements, while ensuring proper clearances from combustibles in accessible areas.
A Level 3 inspection encompasses all the assessments conducted in Level 1 and Level 2 inspections, along with the potential removal of specific building or chimney components when deemed necessary. Component removal, such as the chimney crown or sections of the interior chimney wall, is only undertaken when it’s essential to access areas under scrutiny.
